I’m going through my record collection in some sort of random order, listening to each on in full, and writing something about them here.
Started collecting vinyl just over 5 years ago (as of March 2023) here in my home of Singapore. I love music, so why the late start?
I always loved the idea of collecting records, but knew that when I did, it would be a slippery slope. I was right, and in that ‘short’ time, I have collected over 500!
I say I ‘collect’ records, but each one is opened and PLAYED! Sure I could stream stuff easily and have a decent FLAC collection accessible anywhere, but physically putting the record on kind of forces me to LISTEN to it as it was compiled – taking me on a journey as the artists intended.
My setup
I started off with a Pro-Ject Elemental turntable with the default stylus, a Marantz AV amp and a pair of Mission MX-3 speakers. This wasn’t enough for me…
Now my setup includes:
