Picked this up when I was binging on soundtracks from the local Waxwork distributor here in Singapore.

I remembered liking Salem’s Lot (the TV movie/mini series depending on how you consumed it!) as a kid so thought why not.

The packaging is quite nice. Solid cardboard gatefold, and some nice bold illustration artwork.

Definitely not the cleanest record. Quite a lot of surface noise unfortunately. Due to the nature of the soundtrack, you’d want this nice and quiet.

As you’d expect a haunting 70s soundtrack to be, with a few kitsch tunes thrown in.

Part of the way through side A actually reminds me of the soundtrack to Coppola’s Dracula. Wonder if there was some influence here.

Side B starts off with quite a tension. This might well have been the part of the movie (kid at the window) that scared the shit out of me!

Not really something I’d listen to often, apart from maybe on Halloween. Even then, I’d probably be put off my the surface noise. Maybe it’s a good candidate for a proper clean? I’ll give that a go and report back…
