Picked this up at HMV when was back in UK (as, weirdly, hadn’t seen it around Singapore). Typically, when I came back, I almost immediately found a used 80s Japanese pressing! I didn’t double-dip though as this copy actually sounds decent.

It’s a ‘half-speed master’. I believe these to be a bit of a gimmick, but this does sound good, so I won’t complain.

Side 1 is just classic. I don’t need to go into Invisible Touch, Tonight Tonight Tonight, Land of Confusion, and In Too Deep. Apart from to say some of the best 80s commercial Genesis.

Side 2 starts with Anything she Does has great energy.

Domino part 1 (In the Glow of the Night) is a bit droll, but does have some nice sythn chords that kick in and finds some power in the song. Harks back to a little of the ‘old’ Genesis towards the end. That continues into Domino part 2. Could almost be Peter Gabriel singing this. You’re only taken out of that by the very 80s guitar stabs.

Throwing It All Away you might have heard before. It’s a nice ‘gentle’ Genesis track. Can take it or leave it but it’s not THAT offensive.

We finish of with The Brazilian. Lots of (electronic) percussion here. I actually expected this to be a bit more ‘hard hitting’ but this mastering is a little flat. Great synth though, just a shame the drums don’t hit you in the face as they should.
