Wonderful pressing to my ears. Only a couple of small pops on Windows of the World.

If you like something a bit different, you should really check this album out. Deep and messed up lyrics sung by such a great voice.

This album was apparently quite disturbing upon release, with colourful lyrics and quite taboo subjects to be heard over the airwaves. Jackie (the first single) was banned by the BBC.

Side one starts of with Jackie (so much fun) followed by the ‘glorious’ Best of Both Worlds.

You’ll get some country twangs with Black Sheep Boy and epic storytelling on The Amorous Humphrey Plugg where I hear shades of Neil Diamond.

Next returns back to the ‘fun’ sounds of Jackie and we finish up with a story of prostitution – The Girls From The Streets.

Side 2 has a ‘fairytale’ start to Plastic Palace People. Chorus then changes tack with trumpets and morphing into an echoey Scott Walker bellowing out the lyrics, before returning back into the fairytale.

Spanish guitar of Wait Until Dark comes next with a dash of crooning.

The Girls and the Dogs has a mad pace just like Jackie. Talking about how a dog is loyal and ‘the girls’ just mess you up. In the end, you kick the dog out for the girl anyway!

Windows of the World is much slower. Quite a downer, but tries to look on the bright side.

Things stay slow The Bridge, with Scott sulking into a bottle thinking of love lost and lastly more crooning on Come Next Spring.

A tiny bit of Inner Groove Distortion here for the last minute or so, but nothing too distracting unless you really listen hard.
